Description
Our hollyhocks kept bloom, summer, autumn and winter, they did a great job.
And finally Karel picked this last flower, and I put it in a vase in the living room.
So here I show him to you all. What a proud flower, isn't it?
btw, yesterday I went to my general practitioner, because the flu does not want to bugger off
Now I've got another medication, and should be back in a week.
In addition, I have an inflammation in my elbow, and must respect myself more.
Dear friends, thank you very much for your friendship, wishing you all a lovely and save weekend.

a most beautiful bloom. a very large version of this would look great on the wall.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Beautiful - it seems to glow with it's own radiance against that dark background...

Your flu is very nasty!
This is a beautiful and brave flower, Mies, a lot like you!
Pretty! Aloha
Beautiful flower !
fantastic flower at this date !!! splendid shot !
This will make those flu bugs hit the road. How lovely to have this beauty so late in the season and it is a beautiful capture of it too. Take care,
Can't say I've ever seen one of these flowers, so thanks for the enlightenment !
Neat contrasts and composition, hope you start to feel better soon.
~Cheers~
What a gorgeous flower this is; I've never been successful with these, much to my chagrin. Perhaps I need to relocate to some other climate...glad you have something to try for your illness, and hopefully you will be back to normal soon!
I haven't heard of this flower either, just like Jeff... but that means nothing really, because generally I don't know much at all and/but I am still learning... IOW - I am a WIP (work in progress) but this is a stunning exemplar with the perfect BG.
Be Well soon... Big Sis...

Superb capture Mies. May you recuperate fully Mies. God bless.
leuke eye-catcher, Mies, wat ik echter nog mooier vind is die oude sleutel in die kastdeur.... echt nostalghisch...
Mies ben blij dat Karel dit heeft binnengezet.

hope you feel better soon dear Mies!!!
nice flower, nice capture
a stunning shot of a flower (hollyhock), because of your light, your shadow, the deep reds and ambers of your background, the position of the flower and stem, the beautiful light on the stem (and its smaller leaves), and the gorgeous textures on the large flower. You did this beautifully, Jacomina. A stunning capture! And the textures on the petals are wonderful.
Oh what a pretty hollyhock one of my fav. flowers !
Golly Mies by the time you get this hope you are on the mend.
Thininking of you !
