Description
A young Red-Tailed Hawk strikes a noble pose.
Haven't been around much because of the holidays. Will be more active and catch up when things get back to normal.
Belated Birthday wishes to Helle and Harry. Hope you both had lovely days!
In the meantime, I wish all of you all the very best in the New Year!
Thanks for looking.

S T U N N I N G !!!!!!!!!
Full size, this is both monumental and delicate...if a bird could choose how it would like to be seen, this would be it. Beautiful pose and clarity, yet it's soft---you never sacrifice gentleness for sharpness; and it's beautifully posed on one side, letting the background envelop it; with that sole branch to give it company...a beautiful, noble shot. And I second your wishes for Helle and Harry, wishing them a happy birthday one more time. Finally, I wish you and all your loved ones a wonderful New Year, and a healthy and always inspired 2016. It's always special when you come back here, Maria...
Perfect and beautiful shot and absolutely wonderful animal !!!!!!!
superb
Wonderful capture Maria. I'm a little envious of your 400 tele lens. I really admire the sharpness. Happy New Year for you and yours.
regal
Amazing capture Maria. Happy new year to you and your loved ones. God bless.
Marvelous bird and shot !
Fabulous!
He looks so regal in this fabulous capture. Very well spotted and captured.
A classic shot, and perfectly done; what a beauty!
such impressive detail. I seldom get that close to hawks. there are many flying over my house, but if they land, it is to grab an suspecting animal or bird
happy new year Maria
Wow, what a photo! excellent light, DOF and comp. and your model is beautiful!
Stellar focus and composition in this great capture of the magnificent and regal predator, Maria. Love how it balances itself atop that narrow post. Thank you for mentioning my birthday, it's appreciated. Hope you had a fine stretch of holidays while you were gone.
Such a beautiful bird. Hawks are my favorites among the raptors. Every summer I can observe a pair of them when they are hunting. They live in a church tower nearby in 60 meters high. An excellent photo!!
All my best wishes for the New Year 2016!
Oh wow. You're the best, Maria! This is spectacular work!
May 2016 bring you much love and laughter and endless creativity, and all the birds you can shoot. :)
Outstanding capture....
