Description
From my student potter days.
We were influenced by the visit of the famous Japanese potter Shoji Hamada. There is a little article and photo here http://wikiclay.com/wiki/shoji-hamada
It is much harder than you might think to make a hand thrown teapot. as the spout is inclined to untwist in the firing so you have to compensate for that when attaching it!
The lovely glaze on this was made with some beech ash from my lounge fire.

That's a nice looking pot Andrea :)
Excellent Work
Fabulous, love the handle.
Short and stout. Simple and elegant, a lovely piece.
Delightfully Beautiful Work,
I love this!
I never did this stuff but what i saw others it do look hard.
this is a very beautiful Tea Pot, one that could easily be used in the chanoyu. Wonderful photos thanks for sharing
Absolutely stunning Andrea...both the image and the techniques used to create this. Imagine using ash!
beautiful shape and finish, and I love the appendages and the flat cover. And the stout squat spout. You were doing fine work all the way back then. And it's photographed very nicely against that simple wall and flat surface. Plus you know how much I love your logo, with the dual R's and the somewhat Celtic A (and those great mushrooms and your 1890s' lettering). I'd buy this for my home easily. It's squat and bulbous and very attractive. And the yellow-green tints in the glaze are beautiful against that flesh-toned reddish brown. A terrific tea pot.
What a beautiful teapot. I like the shape and color. Very well done, Andrea.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
What an incredibly lovely piece. The glaze is so pleasing to look at, and I can imagine how the surface feels, all the way from over here. That simple, flat top contains such peace and calm within its design that it makes me relax just to see it, never mind how nice a cup of tea might be. The spout has such lovely proportions, and the handle on the back is intriguing! It's a beautiful piece of pottery, and the handle is a nice finish.
As for the photograph ... wow. Wonderful lighting, and beautifully done. I like the shadows and the edge behind the pot.
Truly a combination of several of your talents in one image!
I have been trying to buy one... they want too much have to wait for a bargain
That teapot has a tail to tell, did you make the handle as well.
Outstanding job Andrea !
Hopefully you were very proud of yourself, then and now for the hard work and beautiful outcome !
