i like that you simply call this "The Astrogator," suggesting that following this magical swirl (with data and other spectral phenomena in it) is all one needs to travel---or perhaps she travels within her own mind. (An ancient hindu scripture, paraphrased because I'm too lazy to look up the quote: "I see, upon this mountain, a rock; and inside that rock I see the universe; and inside that, more universes; and I see universe inside universe, as far as the eye can see...all within this one rock of countless rocks, on this one mountainside of countless mountainsides, stretching out as far as one can see...") Infinite regression, but more importantly, the idea that the universe is imagined in its tiniest element...maybe this woman sees the universe through a mere hologram of energies...In any case, I love the deep atmosphere enshrouding the mountains and trees, and the light streaming down in silk waves, and the still water behind her, with that one lone island out there...very moody and provocative...and her eyes are ablaze from the lights of that swirl...very well done, Craig, it would be nice if such 'ships' existed, running on their own energies, and hovering wherever we wanted them to hover. A wonderful and gentle image, filled with magic...

Thanks so much, Mark. It's amazing how much you just get what I'm trying to achieve with many of my images. However, please remember that peering too closely into my head comes with a health warning! :)

I love the mood of this, with the misty background being so much less real than her portal. (That background is gorgeous, btw. Wow. Beautifully done. I try for that look with photography all the time. Perhaps I should leave the camera alone and just make one!) Will she choose where she wants to go, or just take pot luck? It's a great story. :)
