It looks like they built a city in the arctic. Or it's the in the future & nuclear winter has descended upon the human race...
Is that a frozen lake?... wow... it's so surreal. Toss in a few spaceships and we could be looking at some alien world. Fantastic capture.
There's my snow scene! LOL wolfenshire. Most Conservatives already consider Chicago an alien world. It does look other worldly though. And is that a Ferris wheel in the distance? I didn't know Chicago had a Ferris wheel. Brilliant composition and light and contrasts. But the best part are the tree branches just visible on the right doing a great photobomb.
Now this is truly alien! A superb photo and very strange indeed.

It can't be easy walking on that surface; I have trouble enough with a flat sidewalk! Beautifully textured surface on this waterfront scene, Mark; although I'm taking it on faith that there is water under all that. I wish I could move to the Midwest for the chance of seeing scenes like this in the winter; it does my heart good!

I remember this one. The loneliness of the long distance walker. Post apocalyptic science fiction in every sense of the term. Minimalism at its best. Great contrasts in the black and white below, topped off with the blue sky above, Mark. And, in contrast to flavia49, UteBigSmile is determined to monopolize the comment section.
This is amazing. Coming from OZ, I never see a scene like this. When I have been to Chicago it's been summer!

Having only been there during beautiful autumn days, I can only imagine how it is in the winter deep freeze. Your photography makes me feel like it's familiar, though. Wonderful image, with all those beautiful blues!
