Yes, yes, I know, yet more portraits! I have been completely side-tracked by a very interesting discussion on Octane skin materials here:

and the following pages. We were recently challenged to render a different skin type to our normal tones, and it has been interesting to try to get the different characteristics of darker skin. The shine proved to be elusive for a while, but I think I am getting close with this one. I made a quick custom Carrara hair for this portrait. The texture is the V4 Elite Maria set.

I am stunned by the beauty and lighting of this render. The skin tone is perfect. I have been at turns frustrated and fascinated in trying to get darker skin tones to look natural. (It doesn't help that Reality seems to hate me.) Darker skin tones are like a holy grail. Great Work, and there is nothing wrong with portraits.

This is basically V4 Elite Marie, both texture and morph, but then the materials adjusted for rendering with Octane Render for Carrara.

Great looking portrait. At some point I'll need to look into using Reality. My Girl 6 and Girl 7 characters could benefit.
This isn't rendered in Reality, it is rendered in Octane Render for Carrara. There isn't a version of Reality for Carrara, but with Octane, it would be superfluous anyway.
