Sun and wind, heat and cold, ice and snow have taken their toll but it is all still there...and I'll bet it has been there for at least 50-60 years. What a fascinating subject and composition. Mighty well done.

What a delightful study in textures and colors, Tara! You find the coolest stuff to photograph. I need to get off my butt and get out with the camera(s) more - both ground and airborne. I need 48 hour days (except workdays, of course...)

I think it's shocking that any roof would have such a short guarantee ! Thirty years is nothing, they should build it right in the first place.
Enough of my snorting... This is so beautiful, and the textures and pattern are very enjoyable.

love the composition, using the top of the house as the frame for the roof. And giving us a piece of the roof "in medias res". We're plopped right in it. And the textures on the shingles are so grained, I swear they were painted there! Amazing how they stand out because of all that texture. That kind of pattern is the type of thing Warhol did, over and over---same basic shapes, with small variations. (Here's an example---don't be bothered that I'm comparing your photo with a painting of coke bottles, lol! The point is, he painted every one slightly differently, and put the liquid in, in every which manner...And those are painted, not photographed.
