Description
Last Sunday was at first a day typical of anti-cyclonic gloom, but eventually the mist lifted and the sea twinkled a little.
It was hardly possible to see this boat with the naked eye but when I savagely cropped the photo i saw this red sail.
I wonder if she is called the Marie Celeste?
The cardinal marker buoy with those arrows pointing downwards tells sailors that it is safe to sail only to the South of it. We are looking South in this photo.
I know this pic is photographically inferior but I quite like the way it accurately mimics what I actually see with my poor sight in these conditions: a sort of restless, dancing, continuous movement of lights and colours.

Rather them than me out in the mist.
I love it; the ghost ship coming out of the big empty...were there ghostly bells and mystical voices too? Wonderful work!
Wonderful composition. I think you are being too hard on yourself. I rather like the soft focus here as it enhances the misty look you experienced that day.
What a clever system of buoy markers! I never would have sussed out the arrows. As for the quality of the shot, I think it's just fine. The misty mood is enhanced by the softness of the finer details.
Stunning capture Andrea. God bless.
so beautiful and serene
I think it's very interesting - I find the misty atmosphere and the way the sea just disappears into the sky very artful. I had no idea that buoys conveyed information like that!
Looks like a painting and I like it very much.
Perfect. Great atmosphere.
Awesome catch of the lonely sail boat on the rippling and sparkling water that seems to disappear into the misty air.
Great timing, thanks for sharing Andrea !
