The white stuff sure isn't snow! What about sulpher deposits? I also wonder what the area smelled like. The bubbling and boilig must keep the water in constant motion. There are supposedly similar hot pools in Iceland. Nature is amazing! More photos of this "hole"? Keep up the good work! :-)

This does make a beautiful abstract. Wonderful composition.
But I really want to know how hot the water is, my friend. This photo makes me curious, and by looking at it I'm amazed about the lively looking, and wonderful coloured water; the brown of the raised edge, and the white on the land. I find this very special and a splendid impression.

I was there as a child, and it still leaves vivid imprints on my memory. I recognize the boiling, and the ghost images of rocks under the water. And that white residue on the rock surfaces. Most of your shot is deep blue, which is in strong contrast to those whites and white-grays. And the browns are rusty browns, as if they were made of iron that had rusted. (Maybe they are---i don't know the minerals present here.) A kind of topographical capture, with land jutting into the ocean, and that great foam to set off all that blue. Fine closeup, Tara. And so glad you and Bill finally got there together.
