Description
A most elegantly feathered Chinese goose, captured back on 5/10/10, at the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California.
Incidentally, the mouth looks wide open, but is actually closed. It's that huge protuberance atop the bill, typical of Chinese geese, that gives that illusion.
ZOOM at all cost.

That's fowl, my friend.
I don't know that I've ever seen one of this breed, what a fine waterbird he seems to be! Sturdy legs and a cheeky countenance, to be sure. Excellent portrait!

That's a great shot of this handsome fellow! I saw the mouth closed when I first looked at the image, but after reading your description, I laughed out loud at the optical illusion! That's a great pose and image!
