Old Town art supply store Mount Vernon, Washington August, 2015 ............... Have you noticed that there are avatars now next to comments on your pictures? For a while after the switch, there were generic circles with nothing in them. Now you should be seeing everyone's avatar. And have you noticed how some of them are round and fill the available space and some are small pictures in a larger gray circle? I think I've figured this out, and I think I know how you can make your avatar fill the circle, if you're interested. On the right-hand side of the top black bar, you'll see a tiny avatar (yours) and a few icons. Click your avatar and choose "View Profile." On the right side of the page there is an orange button that says "Edit Profile." Click that. Now you'll see a bunch of blanks you can fill in for your personal information. At the top is a place where you can add or change your avatar by browsing your files, just as you do to upload an image. If you want to keep your same avatar, find that avatar picture, making sure it isn't more than 200 x 200, and choose it as your "new" avatar. Even if it's exactly the same picture, reloading it seems to make a difference. Of course you can also choose a new avatar if you want. As of right now I don't think an animated gif file will work as your avatar, but there's some discussion of that topic in the Forum under a thread entitled "Thumbnails and Avatars," so if you care about animated avatars, you can go there and talk about it and make your voice heard. Anyway ... go find your avatar and reload it. And don't ask me how to find your avatar, because I didn't set up your file system and I've got no idea in the world where it might be. Try it and see what happens. When I did it a couple days ago it worked for me!
