Description
If you follow a paved path along the beach at Yachats, on the non-ocean side you come to a very dense forest. There are openings in the forest, almost like cave openings, that you can enter & it's like entering a secret world. The trees are so dense that they form a canopy above you & there are paths that lead in all directions. Sometimes you have to stoop to pass through certain areas. Lots of mushrooms in there, as well as some mysterious holes (several feet deep) that could be dangerous if you're not careful & fall into them. At one point, we came upon a tepee structure built out of branches, which my grandson entered. I asked him to peek out through it & took this picture of him...

These tepee structures are ever so frequent in my town in summer, where rough sleepers have made themselves temporary homes. We have so much woodland, especially in the chines, which is within only minutes walk of shops and yet full of hiding places.

Inspired! The shadows give this such a sense of mystery. Eligh has a wonderful resting expression (the perfect poker face). Having him look straight at the camera gives this immediacy and drama. You two make a terrific team!
Wonderful shot, it makes me think of "Lord of the Flies" and the lost boys in Neverland...well done!
