Description
A member of the thistle family. This plant has reached about 8 feet tall (2.4 M) and the bees love it. You may just be able to see a bumble on it in this pic.

Stunning capture my friend. God bless.
Great capture - I see the bumble looks very similar to the artichoke plant
Yes Mike and this one stands next to an artichoke.
PURE BEAUTY
they are beautiful flowers but I detest the cockle-burrs they produce. very good capture
Spectacular! I like this POV .
nice angle
marvelous
Cool shot! are they edible?
Here in the Colonies we have an ego-maniac running for president (yeah, I know, aren't they all). Donald Trump turns out to be a particularly odious fellow but he has spawned 'Trump Your Cat' where cat owners take the fur their darlings shed and place it on their heads to look like The Donald. https://www.google.com/search?q=trump+your+cat&biw=1684&bih=1163&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0CB0QsARqFQoTCNz8-5eAhMcCFdidiAodP0UBGA&dpr=0.95 This is all by way of explanation for why my first thought when seeing this was 'Trump Your Plant'. Other than that, this is a superb image. I love the color, light and POV.
Nice closeup.
LOL @ Mark! I didn't know about "Trump your Cat," since I don't follow that sort of thing, but that was hysterical. :P Terrific picture! Love your pov.
Now I want an Artichoke!!! Great Capture!!!
I just spotted some of these growing by someone's gate in the Bridle Trails community; I may have to go see if I can get a capture when the light is right. Superb shot here!
A super photo Jeff and I love how you framed your photo - outstanding my friend!
Wonderful shot.
What an impressive thistle that shames the ordinary little ones that we have. Excellent POV and capture, Jeff!
A very exotic looking plant - I especially like that purple wig...
A quite nice big one.
GOSH! it is gorgeous. Love this close up. Stole a few minutes to take a peek :)
WE could be in the tropics! Which this isn't.. Amazing colours and details, great zoom.. Well taken. Rob
What a fantastic POV, Jeff, this just looks glorious to me, and I think it is a kind of Artichoke, right? The big leaf over it, and the background view, makes it so beautifully!!!
