Description
She Dreams….
She dreams of days gone by
When her ancestors lives was so free.
Only they lived on those great plains,
For as far as the eyes could see.
She dreams how once they had rich lands,
Where their corn stalks grew so high.
The buffalo’s numbers were plenty,
For food and warm skins they could rely.
She dreams about her people’s legacy,
Their making of pottery was a great art.
Celebrations of love with music and dancing,
Came from deep within their heart.
She dreams of that great time long ago,
How her people lived with pride.
Then the intruders came to their land,
Proud people could not run and hide.
Her dreams are no longer happy ones,
Intruders took from them their great land.
A mighty nation of warriors was defeated,
As they fought the battle and never ran.
