Great Color and Texture!!!!
Pretty well worn door. Interesting catch. I'm sure you see a variety of doors in the neighborhood, especially if you have a mix in the ages of homes.
HA! Nice garage door. Wonder if they had a dog once :-)
I remember when all garage doors were this type; you don't see many like this anymore! I'm sure this one will be replaced by the modern plastic style soon, and it will be a major upgrade for this place! Excellent shot of this soon-to-be-extinct antique, Harry!
It was time I did one of your garage doors---always thrilled to see them in your gallery. This has the feel of a 20th C abstract painting, like Albers; with simple rectangular shapes, and subtle textures. I love that you included the air conditioner as another rectangle jutting into the shot. And the grill in front of the door (I assume that's a grill---if it's a welcome mat, it's a bit ill-placed!) (What, the car's gonna wipe it's feet???) The star of the show is the door---with its 3 white squares and that one stubborn standout---the brown rectangle with that plank atop. What a great glitch in the pattern! The door has enough decay to give it character, but enough sameness to make it a near-flat abstraction. And the bits of surrounding are just enough to place the door "in context". (To remind us that this is a garage door and not an abstract construction.) A wonderful minimalist shot; and the bleached beige of the surrounding makes a fine frame for that pale blue and white. Kudos on finding it too---I'd have walked right by...
