A puddle vooty, a puddle gooty,
A puddle scooby, a puddle veet concrete.
First you get some gravel, pour it on the vout
To mix a mess mortar
You add cement and water
See the mellow roony
Come out slurp slurp slurp.

A very popular song in its day, long, long ago.

That's a very heavy and very white cement mixer truck, and an excellent portrait of it!
cool
Fantastic capture !!!
Harry, I'm at 90 minutes now, and I have to go; so I've skipped a few shots to do this, since it makes a great 'end' for a session. You have a way with bulbous metalic shapes---your most recent 'waterworks' shot is a sterling example of that ("Waterworks 2"---I love that, and will comment on it next time), and this one just shouts off the page, in that beautiful milk white. You've handled the other tones so well here, so that the white just overtakes the shot---but it doesn't do so unnaturally. And you have the big mixing cylinder lined up right with the lines of the structure behind it. In fact it's all composed just right, with the palm trees sprouting out of the "neck" of the truck (in the right-most third of the shot), and the "P" on the road directly beneath those big wheels, and the pedestrian line flowing right under the the neck of the truck, etc. The red curb line is also aligned with the line of the truck chassis. Such a well-composed shot. And that white makes the mixer-portion stand out like a brand new toy. (With deep blues in the sky and heavy grays on the road, to set it all off.) You only got 3 comments, which is (unfortunately) expected given the subject material: But it's worth many more, because it's finely done on all accounts. Even the building behind is tilted at just the right angle with the upper portion of the cylinder. A really fine shot, Harry. I'll be back for more soon, but as always, it's a real pleasure.
