AMazing capture !
I have this to say about the picture! Looks like work!!! ;)
rust never sleeps
What a wonderful gate that could be if it were cleaned and repainted; I could think of all sorts of wonderful paint jobs to show off the marvelous design! Great capture of this sad state of disarray!
when I see titlea like this in my ebots, I think, "only Harry would post a shot like this---not only because it's a 'rusting gate', but because it's 'Rusting Gate No. 2,' meaning he's doing a whole series of them!" Another exotic sight taken from an everyday object. And for all its ugliness, it shows the principles of the artists of the late 20th C, who sought variation in markings across a same-like surface. (Warhol based many of his photo-series---in silk screen---on that principle: Just varying tiny visual elements across a monotonous surface. Or witness his Coke bottle paintings, with dabs of coke in every configuration imaginable, across the series.) This is simple and elegant. And I love the rust line in the center of the concrete---how it makes a straight line from the bottom latch of the gate. And simple diagonals above it (telephone wires), with the two circles for the locks. Another minimalist piece from you with lots of variety. Even the upper arch has rust patterns all across it. Kudos for another piece of urban abstract art from right under your nose...
