Description
"Molting Bird"
This friendly bird is in the process of losing his feathers [molting]. I guess he is the role model for all those guys at the beach that shave all the hair off their chests.
Taken at the Sedgwick Co. Zoo Avian exhibit.
Thanks for viewing my gallery.

Hopefully the little guy will have his new feathers soon, Jim.
Beautiful shot and well composed !!
He certainly looks 'plucked' Jim, nice shot.
Great looking capture - I free today so I can make comments - The Doc is out with Cheryl in Luxembourg-City making Sight-Seeings - Lol!
Sorry as some one who has kept birds like this , it is not moulting ,the bird has plucked the feathers out its self most commonly done when the bird is bored though also sometimes if the bird has some kind of infection or parasite that causes irritation, shocking that a zoo should let a bird get to this condition.Take a look here for more information https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Feather-plucking
primo capture of this wonderful bird, Jim. love the colors.
Poor bird. He looks sick. (great capture)
Some one should get him a feathered chest-rug til the new ones come in. Wonderful photo.
