Description
The Horned Lark is a very common bird all throughout the US and Canada. Yet this is the first time I have ever seen one. Seen by the side of the road in flat, open land in an area of agricultural fields.
Better in zoom. And thanks so much for all your recent comments and views.

A very beautiful capture and you can see that it is eying the fly.
Absolutely well taken and composed !!!!!!!!!
A wonderful composition and a beautiful bird! Seems like you've also captured a bee or such ...8=)
I have never seen one of them- wonderful bird and perfect captured!
And a bonus in flight insect to boot :) Wonderful image Tex!
lovely compo
It is such a lovely bird and i see the fly too :-) Wonderful shot as usual :)
So exciting to see a bird new to you! A super sharp photo!
Beautiful capture Maria.
Beautifully captured, interesting POV. I'd have cloned out the bee: if it had been in focus, I'd have left it in. I like the barbed wire though :)
A very impressive photograph....
Hark, hark, the horned lark. Neat capture of the handsomely patterned avian, Maria. Great contrast and texture on the pole, cool barbed wire, and I would also have cloned out the bee. Ironically, although I live in the USA, and am one of the oldest mortals alive, I never even heard of or seen this species of bird.
And I have never seen one ever; what a superb capture of this elusive beauty!
cool shot
Amazing capture Maria. God bless.
