Description
Roads, by Wolf
A journey begun so long ago
With a single infant step
My hand held by one I would never know
Coaxed my foot upon that ebbing flow
That road I could not use
The clamoring echo of my soul
Singing out my silenced muse
My head lifted to the one I accuse
Years upon that hollow course
Sadly given to my sleeping scream
That face now gone my tormented source
No longer able to enforce
Special Notes: Does everyone know there is a poetry contest in the writers gallery? I saw it posted there and I'm doubting many people has seen the post. Heck, most people don't even know there's a writer's gallery let alone a writer's forum.

This month's theme is Poetry. Poetry can make one cry to become scared. Share your inner thoughts with us!
General Contest Rules
Entires must be submitted by no later than May 30, 2015
Thumbnail image must be included 100x100pixels in .jpeg or .gif format.
Both the full-size image and the thumbnail are required
All entries must comply with Renderosity's Terms of Service for thumbnails
The challenge is open to all Renderosity members
Multiple entries allowed.
Please do not post your entries in the galleries until after the challenge is over.
The winner picks the next months theme, subject to approval by the challenge manager
Judging / Voting
Voting will take place in the Writers Forum, after the close of the challenge and is open to all forum members.
Voting will begin on May 31 and will continue until June 7 2015.
The use of "clone accounts" for voting is strictly forbidden.
In the voting thread you must give your top 3 picks, first,second, and third.
Scoring will be as follows, 5 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd.
The winners will be posted shortly after voting ends.
By submitting this form, you agree that you are authorized to grant Renderosity the permission to use of your entry and/or the accompanying image in print advertising, promotions or website usage. The Artist will remain the intellectual property holder of their images.

Great image! But can you now enter that poem since it is in the galleries. And it looks like the only people who can vote are other entrants, not all the members of Rendo. Would like to write poetry but can't even get a good grasp on prose.

No, I can't enter that poem, and I wouldn't anyway... That was just a sample I wrote in like thirty-five seconds as a sample, it's total crap. And, I'm not a poet, but I'd write something if I thought it would help. I just wanted everyone to know there was a little contest going on - Anything to stir a little life for the written arts.

Excellent poem, very cool image! Don't know if there's anything I can contribute to contest... think I already posted all the somewhat decent stuff I wouldn't be completely embarrassed to put in a contest, at least that I have a suitable image to accompany. There's some Christmas poems that didn't get posted during the holidays that I was holding on to for next December; doesn't really feel like the right time for them.

If I posted only the stories I was satisfied with, I would have maybe two stories posted instead of three or four hundred.

I'm fine with posting stuff I don't necessarily think is the best (like the little silly ones I've been doing lately heh :) but I don't see them as candidates for putting in a contest. There are poems I already posted to the gallery some time ago that I think would be better suited, but I take it from what the rules said about not posting to gallery until contest is over that I can't use one of those. Might come up with something though... if the site keeps going down or whatever the hell like it has been I'll have plenty of time on my hands :P
