Description
as opposed to a frog in my throat, captured 4/12/15 @ 1:10 pm, at the once beautiful Descanso Gardens in beautiful La Cañada Flintridge, California.
My POV options were extremely limited when taking these shots. This handsome amphibian was snugly ensconced between a big rock at its back, a thick bush in front of it, and a wide pond to its left. I could have used a flash but feared froggy might jump into the pond if I did that. A kid barely touched it after I finished snapping the pics and it instantly jumped into said pond. And, as far as I know, it could have been a toad.
Have a nice day.

Great shot! Skin looks fairly smooth so probably a frog.
What a handsome frog; I like how the eyes catch the light in that ring around the edge! Excellent shot, Harry!
That looks like a pretty big frog too! Beautiful catch, though I have no idea on specifics of the frogs variety. It doesn't look to be a common variety though.
Fabulous closeups once again my friend... really FABULOUS !!!
excellent capture, well lighted ! take care of you with the frogs....ones of them have the skin like a poison !!!
Its very well captured Harry.. Neat colours and despite the angle a great shot/s. Well done! Rob
(I'm pleased, as I go backwards, at all the shots I "have" commented on, because it's nice to know I got to that many. But there are still many to go...) When you first posted this, I saw the pics before reading your description; and I thought: "Those look like porcelain or ceramic!" Amazing sheen on them, and such perfect light. The top one is like a work of art, nestled into some beautiful leaves (beautiful colors), and the bottom one has a little more live-frog feel, but still feels like a work of art. Beautiful surface light and texture in these shots. And the surrounding hues are caught deeply and freshly. Beautiful frog work, and if you had to struggle with the space, on top of it: kudos. The first shot gave you the most 'classic' pov, and it's beautiful, esp with the shadow over his eye, which glows like it's made of gold. Very fine frog photography.
