I like this design, nice work for the letter "S", great choice of colour too.
This is such amazing work Helle. God bless.
A stunning illustrative work! I love this!
There are lots of decorated letters around, many of them done by computer, and before that, by strict adherence to old patterns. What's so fresh about this is that it's all hand done, and has the flow and spontaneity of a hand painted design. I know you work carefully, and maybe with a plan underneath; but it has a free feel, like your pop art does. It's playful. Also, you left a lot of space between the tendrils, and that lets this breathe. (You've seen those old Medieval Illuminated letters, with so much crowding of every line, you could choke in there if you didn't watch out.) Your choice of peach orange red---whatever it is---is wonderful contrast to the gold. And the gold of course bows to the old, old tradition of using gold in calligraphy. I love it, it's free, free-wheeling, and bows to tradition with a big playful smile. Another wonderful addition to this series (which you started, and I'm still back at "Q" I think! I have a miserable drawing of S I never posted, I think; and a raunchy interview with N. I have to get back to that series one of these days.) This should be zoomed, btw: It just breathes so much more, full size. Wonderful, Helle.
