We live in a world that often, without noticing it, affects us and making us put the masks that transforms us into puppets. We must be able to remove and re-appropriating of our personality.

Superb, Giuliano. It has several centuries in it, from Medieval to Renaissance and after. It has the feel of the old "masques" of past centuries. And of the Commedia del Arte---though these masks aren't for comedy. Your detail is terrific. And the array of 'personalities' is terrific too. The detail on the masks as well as the costumes is meticulous and opulent. And your composition centers around the lady in front---in deep crimson---whose reflective face and posture stand out from everyone else's. Her hues stand out as well. She almost seems like Hamlet contemplating the skull---only she's contemplating her own mask: She seems to be saying, "what am I doing with this?" like she's in a pivotal moment in her life...Terrific visual choices here. And, despite the fact that you have some warriors---the knights with their mailles, etc---they seem oddly frozen, non-threatening...as if the masks had soaked the life out of them. Wonderfully composed and conceived. And I love the floral ornament on the masks too...

We all wear a mask, From the time we become aware, Until the time we fade away.
Shades of the Dance Macabre, in this terrific rendering of the various individuals pretending to be not what/who they really are. Rather than puppets, I consider us common folk as nothing but slaves.

Not exactly carnival, but a situation that I have seen in an exposition in a famous Venetian palace with costumes of '700 on mannequins. That has ispired me to create this image about the concept of puppets and reality life.
