Taken at Malibu Lagoon State Beach in southern California, which is a saltwater marsh where many types of birds can be seen. It looked to me like this pelican was a natural leader among the gulls...

A blue ambiance of great color, contrast and lighting in this super shoreline shot. It doesn't appear like the gulls are in any hurry to obey the urgings of the rather exuberant pelican as he attempts to lead them on some venture or other.
