Description
This is th Utility group at Crufts, it contains all the breeds that don't have a specific section like gundogs, working, terriers etc. The winner was the Toy Poodle. There were some lovely well looked after dogs in the group.
I have to say that ALLEGEDLY a beautiful Irish Setter was poisoned at Crufts on Thursday. Jaggar had come to the show from Belgium with his owners. He had had a 2nd in his class. The next day he went back to Belguim, out with the other dogs he was quite sluggish, he was taken to the vets but died from poisoning, (3 different poisons) Now wether he had been poisoned at the show has not yet been confirmed, the Belgium police are looking into this tragedy. I will keep you all informed as to what the findings are.
My heart goes out to Jaggars owners.
Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx

I believe it. Many of these people are twisted and sick, we've already seen that, they only care about winning some fantasy prestige. Not all of them, I'm sure there are plenty of good people. But, any group of people that pick up dogs by their tails is suspect in my book. The whole thing just makes me sick, poisoning an innocent dog to win some contest. I really hope it didn't happen at the show... I wish it didn't happen at all.
We will wait and see. Hooray for Toy Poodles, I still miss Hetty!
If it was poisoned because of the show then we do have sick people in this word I wish the Law luck in getting them and that they do all in their power to make sure that the people of the world learns their name
Such a tragedy, my thoughts and prayers go out to Jagger's Family ! It is people like you and all the other innocent participants that also carry the burden of the criminals that take advantage of their evil ways. My heart goes out to all of you at this time. Thanks for sharing your "happy" picture of the handlers busy getting their "winners" in order. Looks like the stadium has quite a large audience, anticipating which dog will stand in the winners circle. Smiles. Congratulations to the Toy Poodle and his owners. xx oo
It's too awful to think that it happened at the show, if later this is proven to be the case it really throws the very idea of these shows integrity into chaos. Jagger was a beautiful dog and it's a tragedy, time will only tell what truly happened but there will always be a degree of doubt regardless of what the findings eventually prove to be. Some great breeds of dog in this shot.
I read the news today, Oh Boy! My thoughts and prayers go out to Jagger's owners. It is and will be a sad day in animal/dog history when the true reason is revealed along with whomever did this deed. Wonderful photo!
If I didn't know any better, I'd say that Eukanuba sponsored part of this event
Heard the news today as well and would hope this incident did not happen at the show. Wonderful Capture!!
Barbara, I am so sorry to hear about the little dog passing away.
An update today suggested there may have been up to 6 dogs poisoned but only the one death. Wherever it came from, these abysmal "people" have no place in our society
Apparently Jagger wasn't on his allocated bench and swapped places with another Irish which had won the BOB that day, so it seems that maybe Jagger was not the intended victim. What a dreadfully sad thing to have happened, my heart goes out to his owners they must be devastated. hugs and love xxxxxxx
Sorry to hear that a dog was poisoned, some people are just sick!
Some beautiful dos in this group and so sad that Jaggar died!
