Description
I walked Aurora twice a day. After the first walk I left her off the leash and let her lead me. I decided to just let her be a dog. Of course she sniffed every lawn and all the lamp posts but I realized she was just checking up on the neighbors. “Oh, Cloe was here. Is that Ralph I smell? Why do I smell Ella? Well, I’ll fix that!” And she would squat down to cover the scent.
Aurora’s favorite place was a small park where the dogs would come to play and do “other” things. She would sit and watch the other dogs and let the breeze wash over her. Her nose was constantly twitching as she sniffed the air. Every so often she would perk up and star at the ground. She would start to paw the grass, frantically trying to get at whatever was under the soil. I was told by one of the neighbors that there were gophers in the park. If you listen carefully you can hear them laughing at Aurora.

What a busy little dog, she might need a bath after that, wearing only white ? and what no snow, where you are ? it would have been the right climate for a Husky, methinks ? and come to think of it, you could have also hired a sled then and away you go ... shopping ... BB
It must be very frustrating for dogs to smell so well and yet never see the animal. We have moles, with similar habits to gophers, and I have never seen a live one. My brother's dog recently was doing what Auriora is here and Derek caught a glimpse of a mole for the first time ever. Lucky man
Adorable...Really beautiful dog and fantastic shots!!!
A wonderful set of images Mark.
Good series !
Love the bottom 2. Very funny
Wonderful set of captures Mark I've seen moles before but I've never seen a gopher
With that beautiful white fur, and all that soil, must be hard to avoid the bath every time she is back from the park!
