I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Thank you Lyla.
Beautiful image and lots for the eyes to take in. Yup, see the faces too and reminds me of the movie "Never Ending Story", with the Rock Eater laying about in wait for something to come by. LOL Working on a pic with a path and hope it looks half as good as this one. Well Done!
Thank you Jim for your visit and comments. I look forward to seeing your new project.
The Hills Have Eyes!! Brilliant work Bob!! The whole scene is so well laid out...all the elements come together perfectly to compose a stunning shot! I agree...I'd love to see that rock texture on some mountains as well. In the meantime...Rock On Bob!!!
Thank you Pete. Although a lot of fiddling to get things to show up properly, this was another learning experience. I'm planning a new project; and, working rather slowly, I should have another one ready in a couple of weeks.
Excellent image and lighting. Great textures. Love the path. Corrie
