Description
As I pondered what to title the image, I remembered my grandmother saying 'whatchamacallit' when she couldn't remember the name of something.

Sheesh Bob, there is so much I like about this. The ground work in the foreground is just so natural and complex. The rock outcrop is amazing and real. The placement of the trees is also very nicely done going up the mountain along the natural drainage. Super nice stuff man.
Thank you Steve. It was a learning and fun project. If you're interested, I'll send you the file.
Mount Watchamacallitt behind Rocky Peak. I couldn't BEGIN to make an image like that. Can't even get pine trees to work for me! Major envy! What Steve said.
Thanks Pat. A lot of possibilities with this new 'cube' object that is a part of Terragen 3.
Yes, it is fantastic. Looks like the American west.
Thank you.
Very nice image all round Bob and the added growth to the foreground rock formation add a nice touch of realism. Have to agree with stbc comments as well. Seems Terragen has come a long ways since the last time I used it.
Thanks Jim, TG is fun to use but complex. However, the Planetside forum is the place to get answers and a lot of help.
I don't know why but this makes me feel like i'm watching tremors. Can just imagine the bull dozer coming up the road any minute. Love it
Fantastic image and lighting. Beautiful terrain and surfaces. Corrie
Thank you Corrie.
Very well done landscape !!!
Some pretty cool rocks. Love the title, haven't heard that word for a long time. :-)
Thank you Lyla.
fantastic landscape and ffod for the eyes! realistic details and outstaning surface! special effect are the pathes crossing the landscape! a perfect and wonderful composed scenery! ;o)
the two bigger rocks could be stoned Trolls from Norway! g
Thank you Rita.
I am in Awe of the rock formations, Bob! Very well put together scene and your distant trees look naturally coordinated!! Great Job!!!
Thank you Mark. Just getting started with another version which is much more complicated.
cool
I love the composition and point of view, and those foreground rocks are so cool.. Beautiful and outstanding work, Bob.
Thank you Linda. This was a bit complex; but a lot of fun putting together.
I know what you mean Bob...sometimes I finish a render and then let it sit for several days while I think of a title...which ends up being something like Mountain Lake. :-( But I digress... The texture you've conjured up for those rocks...really rocks! It reminds me of the Inca stone work that looks like many rocks were softened and then tightly packed together...Great effect! The whole scene is very natural and convincing to the eye. I love the subtle color variations in the distant hills and the winding footpath that indicates travelers interest in those cool rock formations. Another fav! Great work Bob!
Thank you Pete, These rock formations grew out of ideas and files of three TG3 expert creators and one guy that knows TG3 like no one else. Through some experimentation, I had come up with these formations by accident. Its the result of combining these different files and some displaceable cube objects. In order to duplicate them in different scenes, it requires carefully using the same setup; but sometimes, the result does not come out to my liking. Bottom line is to stick with it and try again another day when your thinking is fresh. This is why I just can't crank out images as quickly as I used to. Bob
