This is very cool Rod and shows Alondra as a techno warrior. I understand your sentiments. I do have a suggestion for you, however, as I am certain you plan to incorporate her into your series.... why not make her into a Kurdish fighter? Kurdish women have become a real force on the battlefield so the depiction would be true. Women fighters are especially feared because if you are killed by a woman it is so shameful that you do not get to go to heaven and are not awarded the virgin treatment - this makes them especially despised by ISIS idiots. Have her seconded from a Preshma unit for training in higher tech combat, (this is actually happening of course with the American and Canadian advisors being sent over to train the Free Syrian Army) but what she brings with her is natural ability for street fighting and guerrilla warfare with small arms like Kilishnikov and of course swords and daggers as well as small armaments like hand grenades. And of course totally fearless and self sacrificing. There are stories from Kobani of a wounded woman being left behind in a hopeless situation to provide a rear guard and she wound up killing at least 20 ISIS men and then she blew herself up when they finally surrounded her and took a bunch more with her. The horror for the ISIS men as they died realizing they were now going to hell rather than heaven is totally rich in justice. Anyways, just an idea for character development.

I started a new position at my company with a schedule change and so my January has felt very busy with adjusting back to driving in Rush hour traffic and the snowy weather. Now that they finally gave me my own desk (I was sharing with someone) it's settling in, and I feel more at home. Hope your load evens out, my friend!
