Description
The driveway leading from a now defunct Greyhound Bus station, captured 1/2/12, very early morning, not far from my abode. You can imagine the pounding the pavement took each day from those heavy buses.
Have an especially nice day.

Very great shot my friend... great lights also !!!
Great capture!!
I almost see a face there, made of molasses cookie ;) Beautiful light on that cracked surface! Well captured, Harry!
Looks like some repairs are long over due, Harry.
splendid textures with this broken pavement !!! cool shot !!!
Harry, you have a great eye for seeing interesting textures & patterns in the most mundane places - great shot...
Ditto Claude. And Denise (though I can't quite find the face, lol.) You wrote, "You can imagine the pounding the pavement took each day from those heavy buses." Yes. And also from the heat, and the drought, and from general neglect. But for your eye, it's a painting. Your hues here are brought forth to a peak; they feel almost atomic. The grain on the pavement is totally alive. The cracks are strongly delineated. And all that pollen-like yellow is terrific, esp as it intensifies as we move to the top of the image (where I assume the light is more intense, as that's where it's coming from, accdg to the shadows). Most people would include the sides of the road and whatever objects they could find: They'd find this shot too naked for their tastes. But as Claude implies, you don't need all that: You find a whole world in the pavement itself. (Not to say you don't include other objects in OTHER captures; but you don't need them in this type of capture.) That light makes it feel not only neglected, but almost from another planet; and the two big pock-marks upfront are small canyons. (More of your topographical imagery.) Love this. Desolate, with that eerie yellow. Real power in a simple neglected roadway...
