Description
This morning it was 48 degrees in my apartment. The furnace is broken and needs to be replaced. The building owners have known this for three months and so far nothing has been done. The excuse we keep getting is we're getting estimates. At one point we were asked if we could wait until spring. Right now we're using electric heater and using one room, the others are closed off.
By state law if the heat isn't working, even if you pay your own,you don't have to pay your rent.

Aw, that's not good! And of course you can't wait till spring. I hope you have plenty of warm clothes. And I hope they keep their word and you don't have to pay rent. Excellent image. :-) Corrie
Report your landlord to your local building or housing agency. Some minor/major problems may violate local building or housing codes. Call the agency that enforces these codes in your area to find out. (Look under the city or county government listings of your phone book.) Officials at the agency should be able to explain whether your problem violates local or state codes, and may be able to take action against your landlord. Awesome creation !
Yeah, it's a fact, got a couple months free rent one summer in this apartment I used to live in because AC went south....Double edged sword reporting a Landlord for violations of Renters Rights though, they can shut him down and vacate the Housing and that's a real pain....Hope you get a good outcome.....Super Fractal Peace

48 and no heat - I wouldn't pay the rent! Brrrr! This is a terrific engine. I wonder what it makes? Is the center part of a conveyor belt? Great work! And find a way to stay warm!
