I love those little houses, but they're probably not that little, but compared to the landscape, they're at least human sized and so crisp and white and neat. I'll bet they're really comfy inside, even if they're not all houses: at least a couple of them look like they might have some kind of business inside, like shops or something. And what really grabs me is the fact that barge. It's huge. I like the sense of scale this has and I love seeing green leaves: Chicago has been dull and boring and gray, and so seeing green is quite a treat.
Yes, the Rhine is wide, you would need a large telephoto lens to photograph details on the other side. The photo is interesting, the barge is really big.
