Description

Boeing B-52D Stratofortress Serial 55-0094 Taken at the [Wichita KS] Kansas Air Museum Car Show. This isn't the sharpest image. It was taken through the green-yellow thick tinted, angled, glass of the control tower. She is a huge airplane. The B-52 is the longest duration active aircraft in U.S. history. Thanks for viewing my gallery and your comments. If you are interested in seeing a few more images of the B-52, KC-135, B-47, other antique aircraft, and show cars, from this event, please mention it in your comments. l

seeing the cars under the wings gives a very good sense of the immense size of this aircraft I'd like to see more

Impressive photo. You really don't understand the size of these planes until you see them either in person or in comparison to something you're very familiar with. I was similarly amazed when I seen the SR-71 on a trip to Arizona many years ago.

just shows if you look after something it will last this aircraft I agree with you has been flying since April 52 making her a very old girl at 62 years old as present. still impressive and to think only a few airfields can support her since she's so big.

Pretty good photo under those conditions. Amazing that something that big and heavy actually flies.
