Description

Boeing B-52D Stratofortress Serial 55-0094 Taken at the [Wichita KS] Kansas Air Museum Car Show. She performed in Combat Missions: Arclight, Linebacker I, and Linebacker II. She also took part in "Crested Dove." The tail gun is in evidence in this picture. As this B-52D and her sisters were retired and were replaced by B-52G's and H's, These "Tall Tail" B-52's were parked at B-52 Bases and moved around to fool the Soviets into thinking we had more B-52's in service than we really had. In 1978, She was transferred to Boeing Wichita for developmental mockup work and was later transferred to the Kansas Aviation Museum for display. Each weekend a Russian satellite passes over Wichita and verifies that 55-0094 has not been moved more than 50 feet. Thank you for viewing my gallery and your comments.
