Description

This, apparently, is what happens when I get restless and don't quite know what to do with my "I wanna do scifi" impulses. Mostly this isn't anything new, the ship model is pretty old, now, and I've used it many many times. The hab on the asteroid is almost as old. The asteroid is (relatively) new, and uses a texture I've been tinkering with a bit lately. Getting closer to what I'd like to end up with, but the procedural-stuff for the pitting and such on the asteroid needs work.

Does sort of look like the Rosetta landing. I like the way the hab is attached to the asteroid. Maybe a little heavy on the star spike effect, though...

This really looks good, Mike - I have nothing but admiration for anyone that can get this level of depth and detail out of Bryce. I've played with it some, but all I could get it to do was crash every time I tried to apply a material to anything. I've always loved your space scenes, my friend, and this is no exception! This sort of reminds me of that big rock they just landed a probe on recently - comet actually.. Super work!

Really nice: I'm thinking of lots of comet-nuclei smushed together...or maybe a single comet nucleus shaped by an irregular mix of different volatiles; and to top it off, there's that cylindrical assembly--a habitat structure...or something else. There's such a cool story in this image and I love every detail of it. TInkering is such fun, and I like the fact that you've put a familiar ship in the scene...still another story to be uncovered, I'm sure. I really like this. Quite a lot.
