Description
Captured 12/25/12, Christmas morning, somewhere within the vast boundaries of the neighborhood.
It's been seemingly aeons since I posted one of these beauties. Mustn't forget my padlocks. This one serves no real purpose other than to hang from a chain link fence.
Adjo.

What a beautifully weathered lock, and an excellent capture; I speculate that it used to have something that it was locking to the fence, but it somehow escaped, leaving the lock behind. Great find!
That is one very cool looking old padlock, Harry.
cool looking
extraordinary idea !!! cool !!!
Cool find and shot. The key to this padlock exists probably not for a long time.
Fantastic shot !
A great texture and shot!!!!! I hope they have a key for this padlock.!!!!!!!
Great to see your padlocks back, after an absence. (Hendesse said the key probably hasn't existed for a long time: It would be great if, in 2 weeks, you got a letter from the key, who---after stumbling upon this pic---cried out, "Daddy!!!" And it ran all the way over from Bulgaria to meet up with its long lost father...You could get an article in the LA Times!) But getting back to the art: This is very face-forward, honest and direct. Without the usual tangles and multiple posts and links, etc, you've given a straight, posed portrait, with all that wonderful detail coming out in all its orneriness. And the background makes it look like we're viewing this padlock against a big desolate wasteland. And what's the name on the lock? "KING". Yes, lol! It's like a studio portrait of a lock, who posed for you, tilted a bit (for expression) and even put on a dab of white. A cashmere scarf. (And man, if this is Christmas in LA, boy do you have a different Christmas than we do! This padlock would be covered in ice, here, and shivering for its life.) I love the shot. Terrific portrait of the rusty old beast.
