Description
Taken at Silver Falls State Park. I've always found the patterns of growth on bark, particularly of moss, fascinating & beautiful, but after having taken so many photos of it, I try to look for something unique or different. This protuberance grabbed my attention. I can imagine it as a distorted head, but what it really looked like to me was a tail fin on a retro rocket ship. I'm guessing others might see something completely different or maybe just an amorphous blob...

Great capture. Maybe it's an Ent listening for intruders.
What a great habitat!
Turn the pic 90 degrees left and it could be a mouse!!! Super shot.
Very nice
I remember a piece of artwork by Roger Dean in the 80's with floating in the air islands. It was reworked in Avatar quite well. Your blob with it's greenery and tapering body could have been Roger himself's inspiration I think! Amazing find and image!
It reminds me of the jellyfish beings in the two-part pilot for Star Trek TNG, only more massive. I love the colors of bark and moss. Beautiful!
I'm endlessly fascinated by moss on bark, and on everything for that matter. This is lovely, and I can see any number of things in these shapes!
I see the door opening into another world through the tree Great capture
Yeah I can imagine a retro rocket too!
I am just enjoying all of the moss coverage!
