Description
Nightingales Nursing Home suddenly shut as the owner is only interested in money and not people. See a fairly accurate report of this Here
I arrived an hour after the staff had been told that they were all redundant and that all the patients had to be out within 24 hours.
Bill, being funded by the local authority and having dementia, could not be found a space in Bournemouth or Poole and was moved to Surrey, a 2 hour drive from his daughter.

even Ralph looks upset at the notice. great photo.
Such lovely pictures. I should have mentioned it on the other picture, but I got wrapped up in the story and forgot. These are both beautiful shots!
Shots like this are pure gold.
What a bloody insult to these people and a sad state of affairs. We truly are just treated as numbers in this world.
Sorry to hear about and read the sad news. Good photos of Ralph and Fritz sharing their love. Strength to you all.
Aw, looks like Bill is trying to cheer up the disheartened Ralphie. The sad news will cause a tremendous ripple effect, in many ways and areas. Thanks for sharing Andrea.
Sweet picture,like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see Bill enjoys the visits, he will miss the boys.
So wonderful to see the dogs interacting with these folks; shame on the owners.
Ralph looks like he knows something has changed. Great shot of the two of them. And what a terribly sad event; the management should be arrested and shipped to some faraway, nasty prison.
Wonderful pic. but that is sad news about Bill
How cute scene !
What a touching shot, well done to capture this moment. It angers me when owners of such homes do this, it angers me they cannot at least wait and just not take in any more should vacancies be available or at least give far more time to obtain suitable accommodation more local to loved one's. So typical of this country and the way things are run, I know it's a business for the owners but people matter... we are all just a number on a form these days. Seems humanity ceases to exist in the name of capitalist ambition. I wish Bill all the best and hope things work out for him to eventually be closer to his family once more. It is uncanny how Ralph looks rather sad too, maybe he picked up on the atmosphere, which I'm sure was rather depressing given such news.
A very sensitive photo Andrea and I bet your dogs will also miss their visits to Nightingales Nursing Home.
Sad to hear such news Andrea. Indeed very sad. Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.
What a shame! Sad news indeed. Taking your dogs to these folks was, I always thought, one of your finest activities. :)
