Description
Faemike remarked on my 'Faded Flowers' self portrait that I should really smile more!
And that after all the trouble I went to to look appropriately serious for art's sake!
Well, I have to tell you that most of the lines on my face are from a lifetime of sunshine and laughing, but in repose, I am told, I look supercilious and haughty. No bad thing, as it puts off unwanted attention! I have also fostered a special look that can wither a feral yoof at 50 paces.
So, here is me on the beach the last week in August in the waterproof that will get me found and the dogs rescued quickly if I snuff it alone on a country walk. I've got a bright lime green one too!
My friend Helen took this, but as I did all the postwork, for example making it light enough to see my face, I claim it as my photograph.

This is Andrea as I remember her folks !!!
A delightful portrait! It's those peeked caps that shade your eyes and test your photoshop skills! It's good to be noticeable, a smile is only visible one way! Lime green and florescent Orange jackets can be seen from miles away! Good girl!
so lovely
Such a fun shot! I love seeing the face behind the photos and digifiddles, and I love the bright colors! It also looks like you were having quite a fun day. This is a really nicely done (and nicely retouched) photo.
The only place you can hide in that outfit is in an orange grove.
So cool.:-)))
What a wonderful shot of you, great backdrop of the ocean and landscape too. Looking good for all that fresh sea air. Good to see you.
wonderful pic of you Andrea, you look so Happy
You live in the ideal locale, for the feral yoof. Just drown em. Good call with the bright clothing.
I am old fashion Andrea and I like you just the way you are and I also like the way that you think!
I think ALL school teachers have that certain look in their armoury..........it's a must if you don't want to be eaten alive by the students!!!!!!!!
Your camo is no good, I'd know you anywhere...simply by counting the withered feral yoofs flattened at the 50 pace range limit.
Superb capture and post work Andrea. God bless.
Hello Andrea :) :)
You haven't aged a bit 😆
It's been my experience that faces in repose reflect depression or grouchiness or a stern demeanor. Only a little spark is required to get the "real" person to come through. We're a society of smilers, and anything less seems to convey something negative! This is a great shot of you in your find-me finery. :)
