Some of my best childhood memories are sitting in an old fashioned barber shop while my grandfather got his hair-cut. I'm not sure exactly what he was getting cut, because he didn't have any hair. But, there was an old-fashioned soda machine that had a door on the side you opened and pulled out a bottle. Probably wasn't old fashioned back then, but yea... soda was a dime.
Absolutely great! You really captured the nostalgic feel of a time gone by! In the town I grew up in, where I might be moving soon, as a teenager, I got my hair cut by the mayor of the city! He had his own barbershop (before and after he was mayor, and during!) across from city hall. Great memories!
