Description
I don't know about the other dams in the US but I do know that Bonneville Dam has a fish ladder for the salmon and others to navigate through to get to their spawning grounds.
it's a very impressive system which also allows Fish & Wildlife to count the fish as they go through and also let the public see the fish as they swim by.
I wish everyone a great week
I think you all for the comments and faves.

A most excellent capture and photo, Mike! Love how they help the fish return to their breeding grounds. Fish are smarter than we think!
A super photo and a really fascinating one as well. Good job, Mike!!!!!
Amazing capture my friend. God bless.
That's 'dam' interesting!
A great idea and quite interesting. I would love to see the fish coming up here.
I've heard of these but never seen one. I had an image of a subway type turn style where the salmon had to insert a token before they could move on.
Very interesting & cleverly thought out!!!
What an amazing structure and it's a shame the salmon were on a "tea break" whilst you were filming Mike! ;) Looks clean there so the wildlife are well treated and even counted as they "cross the border" If only humans were so easy to count! Can't see salmon hiding in an eight wheeled artic for long! Nice work Sir!
That is so good! Great pic!
Fabulous... Marvelous capture once again !!!
cool info and shot.
Wow Mike, this is so cool. I've never heard of a fish ladder before today.

Wonderful capture!!
Amazing capture.
superb capture
That nice to see that Mike lovely presentation ((5++))
They have one at the locks in Ballard, too; it's great fun to watch the salmon going through when it's migrating time. Lots of leaping and jumping! Great shot of this one, which looks a lot longer than the one here!
Awesome capture, love the POF...:))
We have one too here, but I can“t figure out, how they works. Makes me crazy ;) Excellent done photo
Cool, learn something new every day, thanks and great shot!!!!!!
That must be quite a sight when the salmon are leaping from level to level. I've seen video on some of the nature shows on cable, but I'd love to see it in person!
I too, have heard of, but never seen, one of these. thanks for sharing this.
they thought of this way to keep the salmon living as they go up steam
Super perspective and great info!!
Allot of ours do, so I'm guessing yours do as well, especially if they are Salmon or Trout rivers.. Good POV Rob
Great capture!!!
