Description
Michael suggested a day in the great outdoors. Take the canoe to the lake and paddle around relaxing in the fresh air and sunshine. Sounded great to Victoria, until after the loading, packing, unloading, hauling, and walking forever with her head stuck in a canoe that was getting heavier with every step and a backpack that gained a pound every few minutes. The very idea that this process would be repeated after sitting folded up in the narrow confines of the canoe for hours paddling made her groan. Next weekend the fresh air outdoor adventure would be experienced beside the pool with a tall glass of iced tea and a lounge chair.
Truth be told, I love canoeing and getting out on the water, but when I finished this image, it told me another story. This is an older one I found while cleaning out my WIP folder. It seemed appropriate for the season so I touched it up and give it to you for a laugh.

Another lovely piece! Well done!
Beautiful job compositing! I can sure relate to this, but I was carrying a tent on a scout week end camp out. Hot, humid, but no place to take a dip upon our arrival to the camp site! Much like this summer. I love that protesting duck! :-)
Love it. This why I switched to a kayak. Less ungainly, easier to carry and a heck of a lot more stable!
LOL! This is really good T! You have a way of bringing out RL in your artwork. :-) nice work! Glad you finished and posted it.
It's a little like Jack Sparrow and Will Turner in Pirates of Caribbean, when they are on water lolll Here, duck seems laugh ^^
Boating is a big adventure, lol! Very nice scene, I like the duck :-)
Hah! These days I can share her sentiment. Just park closer to the water these days. Great image. Nice melding of the render and the photo.
super photo character combo, Terri. love the duck.
utterly delightful, wonderful image!!! one of your best!!
Lovely work yes it does look like she is starting to bend at the knees lol.. Excellent work on this one!
Wonderful!
Well done Terri a superb work my friend!!
Very nice scene!
Very nice work, gt and... with duck support ;o]
Magnificent scene. So very realistic with the duck in panic and her walking if her life depend on it. Superb!!!
that's why I'm getting a kayak! Great image love the duck
Great image and story. Very realistic scene, too. Rafting the rivers of Utah canyon country is more relaxing (except for occasional rapids) because the river does the work and those inflatable rafts can carry a load of gear.
Love the composition. I will try to start commenting on a more regular basis soon.
fantastic scene and posing
Nice work. The duck is a great touch.
Nice posing and integration with BG..and the ducks reaction is perfect. Well done

Nicely done scene! But it looks like a lot of work!

Hilarious! You always manage to tell a story. I love your visual vignettes!
Very cute!!!!! A,Cool story line.too!!!! Last time I went canoeing I got burnt like you wouldn't believe.... between the sun off the water and the reflection off the metal canoe even my feet were burnt. Beautiful job!!!!!
