Description
I am always puzzled by the use of the word 'bollard' to describe piffling little plastic thingies in the street and in car parks, when this is what I think of when I hear that word.
Poole Quay.

cool shot; sharp textures, fine compo and colors
Great varieties of textures here! I had to look that up on wiki. :)
Great shot Andrea :)
Fantastic shot, excellent details.
HA it looked like an amoebe :-) Excellent shot Andrea. Feel better soon, my friend :-)
I remember you taking this pic Andrea and I dropped one by not following suit !! Interesting shot and anyone could do this if they knew the ropes.
And you are correct too sweetie. I think those in the street are more "posts" than bollards, great textures in this Andrea.
Interesting pic!!!
I bet that rope is expensive to buy by the metre!
Wow, I love this shot; there's something really satisfying about the colours and textures. Well done!
Heavy Duty.... Aloha
I like the splitting piling in this version but the colorful rope in the FlickR version adds some punch to that photo!
great capture of this one - it's well used and that's good
".....anyone could do this if they knew the ropes." Jeff is back! This looks like it can carry some weight. Wonderfully sharp and detailed image. Great color and composition. During the 17th and 18th centuries bollards were made of old cannon buried muzzle first next to s quay.
I never see that word used for anything but this! Nice shot!
The classic photographic subject.. what makes this one different is it's shape... and I like the colour tones. This deserves a zoom view.
Now THAT is a serious bollard! I like its shape. No nonsense, and no doubt as to its purpose.
Nearly an abstract. Nice textures.
My what a big one.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Nicely seen and captured. I like the detail in the rope!
