I took this photo during a demonstration, where they showed how the people here in Limburg
in the middle of the last century, worked the land.

Very nice capture Jacomina. I think such horses will also be used to work in the woods (skidding horse). As i've noticed it is also a Head-to-head race for the AOM.
Mies, this is such a cool photo of how they used to do it. I bet you were thrilled to see such a demonstration.
OH!! How wonderful to see these horses. We have had alot of them, when I was a child and young. They were used by the breweries to transport beer around, so we called them Brewer Horses. I can still hear them, when I think about them. Loved those horses. Sometimes they had bags of food hanging to their mouths, so they could eat while walking. Then they were swinging their head up so the food fell down into their mouths. Then a big SNORT!!! to get the dust out of the noses. PRRRR !!! :-)
