Description
aka necromancer, sorcerer, wizard.
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
The dude is carrying a camera, quite an anomaly and anachronism for his time period in history. Even Merlin didn't have one of those. For some reason he closed his eyes when I asked him to pose. In any case, I didn't show any reaction during that encounter in fear of being turned into something unmentionable.
Nothing else but to ZOOM.
Hocus pocus.

Nice capture of this cool looking magician, Harry.
cool shot of the wizard. we have our Renaissance fesival going on also in Larkspur, Co..
Great shot of the magician . The Pentax camera strapped around his neck seems a little unusual , but he is a magician.
I don't think Merlin would have (in addition to the camera) a modern waist belt or need the aid of spectacles. But in all else, the gentleman did his best to impersonate the world's most famous enchanter. A very amusing candid shot, Harry. :)
Another colourful shot, Harry; this Merlin seems a bit camera-shy. Great costume, and my eye is drawn to the cute young girl in black and purple behind him showing someone something on her phone. So much to see!! I love your faire shots!
Great and colourful magician!!!!!!!!!!
beautiful capture
Its Gandalf - In designer Purple lol I lover it, he even has a camera.. Super series mate Rob
When you first posted this, I marveled that your son could read the camera model---a Pentax! I looked and looked, but couldn't make it out. But I DID see the camera, and thought, this would be a great subject for a tale: a Medieval mythic figure (from the famous King Arthur legends), carrying a modern digital camera. Great capture. Thing is, with all his paraphernalia, the camera fits right in. And the closed eyes not only gives fun counterpoint to the shot---this imposing magician, who seems to be tuning out---but mystery too: Maybe he IS dreaming a spell to lock your camera before you can take a shot. I also like the people in the background---the woman appears very happy; and all those hats! More fine street shooting, esp considering HIS hat! (That's a major hat. That ain't no cheap cap, jack: That's a HAT. That thing's a freakin' HAT.) He's placed really well in the shot, and the shot's a delight. I don't know if there was a real King Arthur, but I know that his legends---and those of his whole surrounding entourage---illuminated the imaginations of Europe for centuries. In the Middle Ages, writers from all over Europe wrote versions of these crazy people's exploits, some in poetry, some in prose. The versions were numerous. And you got the spirit of that world. Frankly, if his eyes were open, it might've been less interesting. Wonderful shot, Harry.
