So very nice Andrea,
beautiful capture; I tnink it is not the palomena prasina but the Elasmostethus interstinctus
I've had a closer look at the books and charts and now I'm certain it's a Piezodorus lituratus! Gorse Shieldbug.
Superb capture Andrea. Gorse Shieldbug.
Great shot...there are so many kinds, they can be hard to ID. Add to that the fact that they go through 5 or 6 stages to adulthood, and you are to be commended for ID'ing this and so many of your insect photographs!
no matter the classification, it is a wonderful capture
Yeah, I am not even trying to find the correct breed of any insect. Ok, maybe a very few but... THis is a magnificent Macro Andrea. !
More beautiful with zoom view !!! Excellent shot. 5++++
I agree with the above, it is beautiful in zoom.
Cool capture.
nice shot, great details and colors
Great macro! Excellent capture! :)
I just read that they change colour depending on sexual maturity, and also hibernate. Fascinating.
A fine specimen and nicely captured too.
He/she has found a brilliant resting place and the wood textures are superb.
Nice color contrast and macro.
"Shield bug" is enough of an ID for me! LOL! I like him on the cutout of the wood post. A nice perch!
I see old silver butt is out and about. Excellent close up.
And she did too it seems. Great shot.
perfect captured stinky bug!
What a beauty this is!
I like the photo and the stage that s/he is on! It looks similar to our "stink bugs" - if you happen to step on one!
Now you see me, now you don't..eh, maybe I should find a better hiding place.. ;o)
