Description
Captured way back on 10/30/06 at the beautiful Auto/Copter Expo show held annually at the beautiful Armed Forces Reserve Center in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
The last pic shows a Sidewinder missile on the wing tip.
The General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,500 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976. Although no longer being purchased by the U.S. Air Force, improved versions are still being built for export customers. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martin after a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta.

Tons/tonnes of info on the Internet about this iconic aircraft, probably my favorite jet fighter, alongside the F-104.
Peace be with you.

Funny you should mention the F-104 (my favorite aircraft) in this situation. The F-16 owes much to the Starfighter, the original lightweight fighter. I won't bore you with the story but I can say you have moved up on my favorite peoples list (LOL). Nice photos. Fortunate it was roped off so you didn't have to deal with all those people getting in your way of a good shot!
OK, these are way-cool shots, Harry; but if I squint a little and look at that first one it looks to me like kind of a goofy cartoon shark--I see googly eyes, a silly grin and the hint of buck teeth over a fat red lower lip. Not due to your superb photography skills, it's how the plane is designed. Great shots, and I hope you stayed away from the sidewinder missile!
These are some amazing captures Harry, and thanks for the detailed info.
Neat shots, great details on the tail there.. I should be seeing one at an airshow in September, Dutch or Norway I think? Well posted mate! Rob
