Description
Beacon Rock is 848 feet (258 m) tall and is composed of basalt.
it is an interesting climb, though I haven't had the chance to climb it, YET! One of the next trips up the gorge will afford me that opportunity to do that. You can bet that I will be taking pictures the entire way up and down.
This is from the boat landing, quite a bit from the rock

Jeeze - that rock is massive! What a great shot, Mike! You're a braver man than I, my friend! Just be careful climbing that beast!
Cool shot Mike.
Mike, this really is a fantastic view of it and I can't wait to see the photographs after you climb it.
looks dificult to climb. sort of looks like a cave near top on zoooooooooooom, most likely shadowing. also starring at the rock formation i can see some faces with the sharp edges and shadowings.
Great shot, Mike! It's a fun climb to the top and a beautiful view when you get there. It's been quite a number of years since I've climbed it - I look forward to your pictures (I assume you'll make it before I do :).
Beautiful place and photo !!
Quite formidable. Nice capture, it really dominates the landscape.
A magnificent photo, Mike! Bravo! Fantastic capture!
Interesting may not be the word I would use Mike, not liking heights and all that - but it does look imposing none-the-less!
This must be the core of an extinct volcano. Super capture and clarity Mike.
Wow, very impressive. You are going up there?????????
Wonderful. I love my bushwalking, but climbing that would be out of my talent zone!
