French Quarter
New Orleans, Louisiana
I was trying to get a picture of the patina on that old wall, and this guy was in my way. Cropping him out would have crowded the view of the wall, and besides ... he sort of grew on me. I like his rather bored expression.

Without him is my preference as this would have been excellent... but I do get what you mean with his presence in the image. Sometimes things work out after the fact (as they have for me some cases) :)
Yeah, he could have turned his head away, if he didnt want his picture taken :-)
He reminds me of one of Chip's photographic subjects, sticking his head into your shot. I think it works here. And those doors really are wonderful!

The hinges on the doors draw my attention. Though simple, there is a utilitarian beauty of design there, you don't see such things in modern workmanship.
He doesn't look bored to me. This guy is either a wanted fugitive who is unhappy about having his picture taken or works for the CIA & thinks you've just blown his cover...

Probably wondering why you aren't pointing the camera directly at him. Such worn and colorful doors and wall. Makes me wonder what's inside.
