wow, this is different, nice posing with the lilting boat and amazing water, makes you think what it must be like to be all alone on the open sea in a small boat — nothing compared to space perhaps :)

I hate to speculate on what he must have done!! Doesn't look like his mates left him any lunch either.
Nicely done! Great sense of the weight of the sailor causing the one side of the boat to sink lower in the water. The scene creates a feeling of abandonment, but at least there is one positive: he still has his oars. ;-)
Well done - I wonder where they got the rowboat - (subs carry inflatables) - they must have made a kill very nearby.

OK ... I'm late, but I've been looking at this off and on ... The sailor is standing a little too straight, but the main problem is that the boat he's standing in is one that would NEVER be carried by a submarine. A sub would use inflatable boats, for reasons of space, if no others. We are left with the conclusion that this boat was from some other ship, if from a ship at all. It is very Dutch in feeling. Indeed, it looks 18th or 19th century Dutch ... are you sure there's no little Dutch merchantman somewhere out of our view? This is an illustration from a time-travel SF story.
